Mr. Fourton’s commercial litigation experience is particularly wide ranging as it extends to all phases of litigation, not only at the trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts; but, also in various alternative dispute resolution forums. Leslie has defended and prosecuted, and together with his colleagues, successfully resolved many complex matters and has proven experience identifying and analyzing complex legal, regulatory and business issues providing appropriate legal advice regarding applicable legal and professional standards on a time-sensitive basis. Among such cases are In re: Comverse Technology, Inc., a matter that settled for a total of $225 million, which is one of the largest settlement amounts regarding a derivatives backdating case historically in securities litigation; as general counsel Mr. Fourton secured an important win for medical professionals in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia as he lead the litigation team that challenged the distribution of the Swine-Flu Vaccines to physicians in the State of New York. Further, Leslie has successfully defended many civil enforcement actions and regulatory inquiries relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), subprime lending, LIBOR, derivatives and insider trading. It should be noted Mr. Fourton also has experience managing businesses as Chief Operating Officer along with handling highly complex legal issues involving significant risk and requiring the application of seasoned judgment. In addition to courts in the States of New York, Texas and District of Columbia, he is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and numerous federal district courts across the country.

As a litigator, Mr. Fourton has litigated many trials and won at trial against such opponents as the Food and Drug Administration, Department of Homeland Security, the United States Attorney’s Office, and many other well known entities. As a corporate counsel to several corporations, Leslie negotiates contracts seeking the best outcome for his clients, and to make them secure, especially if litigation later ensues, thereafter. Mr. Fourton has been selected year after year by several independent ranking agencies including Who’s Who In American Law as a recognized leader in his fields.
